Zionist FAQs: There are many Muslim and Christian states. Jews have the right of self-determination in their "ancestral land," like so many others. Why are Jews singled out about the only "Jewish state"?

When non-Jews criticize Israel for its identity as a "Jewish state," they are often labeled as antisemitic. From the perspective of many Jews (let us admit it, the vast majority of Jews nowadays are Zionists who support Israel's right to exist), this criticism is seen as a double standard, singling out Jews for exercising a right to self-determination in their "ancestral land" that is afforded to other nations. Yet, a closer look at Israel's legal system and its historical and ongoing impact on Palestinians reveals why this charge of antisemitism (more like weaponizing antisemitism), in this context, is so contentious.

No Other State (Muslim or Christian) Is Quite Like Israel

Official UN Map: It was updated in August 1950 showing that Palestinians STILL OWN 94% of the lands

The claim that other Muslim and Christian states are comparable to Israel is a common deflection. While many countries have an official state religion, none function in the same way as Israel, which legally privileges one religious-ethnic group over all others in a way that has led to a system of apartheid and Palestinian replacement (a.k.a. ethnic cleansing).

  • Muslim and Christian States: Many countries with an official state religion, such as the United Kingdom or Denmark, with their state churches, have largely symbolic religious identities. In most cases, this doesn't result in systemic legal discrimination against non-adherents. Even in states where Islam is the official religion and the legal system is based on Sharia law, there are no laws that facilitate the mass immigration of a global religious group while simultaneously denying a native population the right to return.
  • The Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire's dhimmi system, which granted legal autonomy to non-Muslim communities in exchange for a tax (jizya), was an imperfect system of governance, but it often provided a safer environment for Jews than Christian Europe. Critically, this system was abolished in the mid-19th century, a time when Jews in Europe were still facing rampant discrimination, expulsions, and pogroms. The Ottoman Empire, for all its faults, was a multi-ethnic empire that did not have the founding principle of creating a nation for one single group at the expense of others.

Jews' "Ancestral Land": You would think the Jews, among all people, would contemplate using DNA tests to prove such a claim? On the contrary, Israel was one of the first to impose severe restrictions on acquiring DNA tests (a court order is needed to be tested). On top of that, almost every American Jew did a DNA test. Therefore, this ridiculous claim could be easily verified. If that were remotely true, you would think the Jews among all people are clobbering to use their DNA test results to prove they are indigenous to the land?
Remind us, please: who shall push who into the sea? Jaffa May 1948, Palestinians were being pushed into the sea by Zionist Jewish forces.

The Palestinian experience of the past seven-plus decades is unique. For us, the "great replacement" is not a theory but a lived reality, a nightmare that began with the Nakba in 1948 and continues to this day. Israel's legal system, based on the Law of Return and the Nation-State Law, is specifically designed to create and maintain a Jewish demographic majority, which is the direct cause of Palestinian dispossession, land theft, ethnic cleansing, and marginalization. Even in the case of the Palestinians who are citizens of the "Jewish state," discrimination on all levels is rampet, especially when it comes to land use, receiving government services, and development. For example, 97% of the land is open for development only to Jews; here is the evidence from Human Rights Watch. As you contemplate the earlier fact,  keep in mind that Palestinians owned and operated over 94% of the land just before Nakba. For those who are curious, here is the evidence from the British Mandate and the UN.

Criminalizing Identity for Control

A stark example of Israel's unique legal structure is its approach to Jewish identity. Israel has criminalized pretending to be Jewish, with laws used in cases where non-Jews have had consensual sexual relationships with Jewish women while pretending to be Jewish. This is not about religious fraud; it is about protecting the "purity" of a specific ethno-religious group and is a policy designed to. Such a law is a chilling echo of similar laws in other countries that have sought to legislate and enforce ethnic and racial hierarchies (i.e., Nazi Germany and apartheid South Africa)

Israel is not a country : Israel a settler colony that was founded by replacing and dispossessing the indigenous people

The Cognitive Dissonance of Liberal Zionism

The fundamental contradiction at the heart of this issue is the attempt to be both a liberal and a Zionist. Liberalism champions universal human rights, equality, and justice. However, these values are irreconcilable with the foundations of Zionism as it has been implemented. The apartheid system, the replacement of Palestinians, and the land theft are not unfortunate side effects; they are the necessary and deeply intertwined components of the project to create a Jewish ethno-state. For the love of god: how the "Jewish state" could become a Jewish majority when the Jews were under 10% of the citizens just before Nakba in early 1948?

The Zionist Version Of Lebensraum: A Map Of The Great Israel

To say one is a "liberal Zionist" is to engage in cognitive dissonance?to hold two contradictory beliefs simultaneously. It's a desire to have a safe homeland for Jews while simultaneously denying the hard, factual reality of what that homeland's creation required and continues to require from the Palestinian people. I respect the honesty of right-wing Zionists, who acknowledge that their goals cannot be achieved without these measures, even if I find those goals morally reprehensible.

Just in case you are still under the influence of the Israeli Hasbara, imagine yourself a Jew hearing Germans bragging about their fair and kind treatment of Jews after reducing Europe's Jewish population by six million! Even worse, imagine yourself as an American Indian watching a white American bragging about America's multiculturalism! Just in case you still doubt our presentation, we urge you to watch this brave American Jew who eloquently exposed Israeli lunacies in under two minutes. Please pay attention to her body language and make sure to watch the video all the way, especially in the last ten seconds:

Now, do you honestly believe Zionist Jews gave a good name to refugees? Are Jews proud of this liberal Israeli democracy?
